A filthy 50050 Fearless accelerates away from Oxford station on 29 October 1982 with the 1V58 08:35 Birmingham New Street to Paddington service. Obviously not helped by the gloomy weather, but in the early 1980s the surviving unrefurbished 50s always seemed to be in this 'BR corporate grime' livery, with just a hint of blue underneath! Presumably 50050 got even tattier until it was called to Doncaster for rebuilding during the following year. The scrapyard on the right is now the car park for Oxford station.
