Despite many attempts during 1988 and 1989, I never did manage to see 50049 in its guise as the dedicated freight locomotive 50149. Therefore I wasn't going to miss getting a picture of it when it was cosmetically backdated in preservation. So here is 50149 Defiance rolling into Blue Anchor station on 28 October 1994 with the 11:05 Minehead to Williton freight. This was the loco's first working during the West Somerset Railway's Diesel Gala.
