This mix of different liveries was fairly common on the Chiltern Line at this time, unlike on the nearby Paddington to Oxford route, where barring short term individual vehicle substitution, the Class 117 sets would have all three vehicles in the same livery. This line is now double track, with a massively increased level of patronage.
