A pair of Tyseley allocated three car Class 116s, with 53060 leading, pass Stoke Orchard on 21 July 1984 with the 1M72 13:47 Weston-super-Mare to Birmingham New Street service. A slightly unusual long distance Class 1 headcode DMU Saturdays only train, which was the return working of the 1V65 09:00 Birmingham New Street to Weston-super-Mare. Apparently a pair of Class 101 units was more common than 116s, but unfortunately this is the only time I photographed this train, and I haven't seen any other pictures of it.
