The Thames Valley local trains were usually worked by Pressed Steel Class 117 DMUs in the 1980s, with help from the Western Region's Class 119 & 121 units. Every so often however, one of Tyseley's Class 116 sets ventured down to Oxford, either via the Cotswold Line, or via Banbury. Sometimes they even worked further south, occasionally taking one of Birmingham's units to London. Such is the case here, as TS620 (53849, 59606 & 53878) passes South Moreton on 12 September 1985 with the 2A45 12:12 Oxford to Paddington service. |
