55019 Cheddington 5 August 2000

During 2000, 55019 Royal Highland Fusilier was a regular on VSOE Northern Belle charters, often in association with specially repainted 50017. It is seen here speeding through Cheddington station on 5 August 2000 with a Victoria to Edinburgh special. Hiding on the rear is 50017. Just to the right of the fence was formerly the bay platform serving the branch to Aylesbury (closed to passengers in 1953). It was here that Class 40 D326 and the first two TPO vehicles of the Great Train Robbery train were impounded by police in August 1963.
