For some reason I only visited Colthrop a couple of times, and only took a few pictures from the now removed footbridge adjacent to the level crossing. So here for the record is a very poor Kodachrome 200 view of 56037 Richard Trevithick passing the signal box on 30 September 1989 with the 6Z02 08:10 Whatley Quarry to West Drayton ARC stone train. Note signalman's light blue Skoda Estelle parked behind the box. Colthrop Paper Mill, which dominates the background, has now been demolished and replaced with an industrial estate. |
