The sun starts to break through the early morning mist at Wolvercote Junction on 27 March 1982, as 56047 heads south with the 7V34 04:17 Toton Old Bank to Didcot Power Station MGR. Its been a very long time since this location was anything like as open as this! Clearly visible on the original Kodachrome 64 transparency, a recently felled steam age telegraph pole can be seen lying next to the Cotswold Line, as it peels away to the left. |
