With the acquisition of all three shadow freight franchises by Wisconsin Central in 1996, there was a delay before the launch of the English, Welsh & Scottish Railway colour scheme, and so several locomotives were outshopped in white, as a temporary measure. Unfortunately, I saw very few of these 'ghost' locos, and then only in poor light. 56068 passes Melton Ross Lime Works, near Croxton, on 15 March 1997 with the 7G08 15:12 Immingham to Scunthorpe MGR. Note that the loco's multiple working cable is missing.
