The first Rail Head Treatment Train of the 2022 season operated through the Cotswolds on Sunday 2 October 2022. As locos working these trains get absolutely filthy within a few days, I was particularly keen to get a picture while they were still recognisably Colas machines! 56090 is pictured leading the train past the site of Beards Lane Crossing, Stroud, with the 3S31 11:58 Swindon Transfer to Worcester Shrub Hill (via Shrewsbury, Kings Norton and Moreton-in-Marsh!) RHTT. 56113 is bringing up the rear. This location is just a short distance to the west of Stroud station. The building on the left is the original crossing keeper's cottage, now a private residence. |
