56303 takes some of Didcot Power Station's flyash for disposal in the old brick pits at Calvert, the rest it spreads on the Oxfordshire fields! I doubt that there is much nutrient value in flyash, but the crops are certainly getting a good dusting as 56303 passes through Radley station on 19 April 2013 with the 6Z92 18:10 Didcot Power Station to Calvert. For once I was glad that the sun had disappeared into cloud, as this allowed a viewpoint that included the train's point of origin in the background. Had the sun been out, the viewpoint is much more restricted, and it would be impossible to include the now dormant power station in the picture. |
