56311 passes through the recently cleared cutting at Islip on 10 June 2013 with the 6Z48 13:05 Thorney Mill to Calvert spoil train. Having been unable to photograph this train on either occasion when it ran in sunshine during the previous week, it was no surprise that when I could get to the lineside it was cloudy! However, I turned this to my advantage, by visiting this spot, which would be impossibly backlit if the sun had been out. The tree stumps in the foreground give an indication of just how much clearer this view now is. Note the old grain silo in the background on the left, which is situated next to Banbury Road stone terminal, over a mile away.
