Travelling very slowly on the approach to a red signal near the site of Wantage Road station, 60054 is pictured working the 6B33 13:35 Theale to Robeston Murco oil empties on 17 November 2011. Unfortunately the sun was starting to go in an out of a bank of cloud, and did so several times during the infuriatingly long time it seemed to take to reach me from when I first saw it in the distance. Even though not fully out, at least it was bright at the critical moment. Although the red signal cleared to green (with feathers for the relief line), the train didn't seem to make any attempt to accelerate, as was moving at a snail's pace as I started the long walk back to the car. |
