Still sporting its original Railfreight Coal livery, 60057 Adam Smith has just passed under the WCML at Warrington, and is about to enter Arpley Yard on 25 March 1993 with a train of MGR empties from Fiddlers Ferry Power Station. The massive Lever Brothers plant dominates the background. Unfortunately I never went to this classic location when pairs of Class 20s worked these trains, but at least a clean triple grey 60 is infinitely preferable to a 'Shed'! |
