60057 Warrington 25 March 1993

Still sporting its original Trainload Coal livery, 60057 Adam Smith has just passed under the WCML at Warrington, and is about to enter Arpley Yard on 25 March 1993 with a train of MGR empties from Fiddlers Ferry Power Station. The massive Lever Brothers plant dominates the background. Unfortunately I never went to this classic location when pairs of Class 20s worked these trains, but at least a clean triple grey 60 is infinitely preferable to a 'Shed'!
