60071 Ribblehead Viaduct passes Broken Cross (between Lydney and Gloucester) with the 6M96 05:48 Margam to Corby steel coils on 18 February 2008. It was bitterly cold, with frost still on the ballast and the low early morning sunshine providing perfect illumination, despite the hazy conditions. Indeed the visibility in the distance was so poor that the line of the hills in the background can only just be seen in the gloom. This was the first of what turned out to be three Class 60 hauled trains seen during the day.
