The last rays of the setting sun glint along the side of 60074 and its train and turn it golden on 6 April 2000. It is working the 6M17 16:48 Newport Alexandra Dock Junction to Wembley Enterprise service, and is seen here passing Bourton on the Great Western Mainline just to the east of Swindon, which can just be seen in the distance. The glancing sun is also highlighting the mark left by the removal the previous year of the original Braeriach nameplate. This train could often be fairly lengthy, although like on this occasion, usually had a number of empty flats in the consist. |
