60076 Rossett 10 July 1999

60076 passes Rossett with the 6J70 09:15 Warrington Arpley to Chirk Kronospan 'Enterprise' timber train on 10 July 1999. At the time Class 37s or 56s were the more usual motive power for this train. If the single line here appears to be on an exceptionally wide track formation it is hardly surprising, as not only was this formally a double track main line, but there were goods loops here as well. Four tracks down to one is rationalisation in a big way! The road in the background is the A483 from Wrexham to Chester, which is effectively a much needed new bypass for the villages of Gresford and Rossett.
