60086 Schiehallion approaches the site of Ashbury Crossing at Shrivenham on 12 July 1995 with one of the daily Didcot Power Station to Avonmouth MGR empties. Until the 1990s Didcot had been largely supplied from the Midlands coalfields. However, for the last two decades of the station's life it mainly used imported coal traveling via the Vale of White Horse Line. At least at the time this photo was taken it was only the coal that was imported, not the loco! |
