Since the 6M40 11:56 Westbury to Stud Farm ballast empties went over to GBRf operation in 2014, Class 66/6s have been rare visitors to the Oxford area, Therefore I was particularly pleased to see 66604 at Wolvercote Junction on 31 October 2018, especially as it passed during a brief sunny period, amidst dark clouds. The train is the 6C61 12:11 Banbury Reservoir to Bristol East stone empties. The loaded train had worked north overnight as the 04:05 Bristol East to Banbury Reservoir. Freightliner is working these trains on behalf of DB Cargo.
