66612 Calehill Heath (Charing) 19 July 2002

66612 brings up the rear of an empty ballast train heading back to Beechbrook Farm along the partially completed Channel Tunnel Rail Link at Calehill Heath (near Charing) on 19 July 2002. 66554 is the lead locomotive, and in a remarkable example of parallel running, it can just been seen keeping pace with Class 20 D8188 on a wiring train, whilst in front of that is a tamper unit. This was just a selection of a whole series of trains that were all heading home after a day's work on the new line.
