66704 Colchester Power Signalbox rounds the curve at Crofton with the 6E31 09:20 Taunton Fairwater Yard to Peterborough scrap sleepers on 21 November 2006. The promising bright start didn't last long, and by the time this train arrived thick cloud had rolled in from the west. For once it was possible to fit the complete train in the picture, as the stone trains that are the main freight traffic on this line are much longer than this, and often less than a third of the train is visible in this view! Coincidentally it was exactly four months ago that I was last at this location, when there was a considerably different appearance to the vegetation.
