66722 Sir Edward Watkin & 66725 Sunderland approach Appleford on 15 August 2019 with the 6V64 01:38 Carlisle New Yard to Warminster MoD, conveying a lengthy train of Army Foxhound vehicles. These two locos had worked this train (in top'n'tail mode) from Elgin to Carlisle the previous day. Just visible near the rear of the train is the bridge that carries the line over the River Thames. This steel arched bridge was built in 1927, replacing a 1850 wrought iron bridge, which in turn replaced the original 1843 timber structure.
