In golden late afternoon light on 24 February 2016, 66731 InterhubGB passes Uffington with the 6V79 11:56 Angerstein Wharf to Pengam stone empties. A public footpath crosses the line by the tree next to the third wagon. Surprisingly, this has been reopened after having been closed for over a year. As it is little used, and bearing in mind Network Rail's attitude to foot crossing, I really thought this would not reopen, and be a case of closure by stealth. |
