A temporary footbridge was opened at the north end of Tackley station in April 2020, replacing a former foot crossing at the south end of the station. This seems a complete waste of money, as Network Rail have claimed for years that they wanted to replace the foot crossing with a subway, and still claim that is the plan. Why not just do that, and keep the foot crossing until then?
