66757 passes Uffington on 28 October 2014 with the 6M40 11:56 Westbury to Stud Farm ballast empties. The Met Office had correctly predicted that it would be a sunny morning, with a bank of cloud coming in from the west in the early afternoon. The mass of dark cloud can be clearly seen in this picture. However, at this stage the edge of it was directly overhead, so the view in the opposite direction was completely different. The white object in the ballast marks the location of one of the soon to be installed overhead electrification masts. |
