66789 British Rail 1948-1997 passes Wolvercote on 28 March 2018 with the 6E45 12:05 Theale to Immingham empty oil tanks. I had already photographed this train at Culham, but its booked stop at Oxford North Junction easily allowed a second picture. There are numerous 'what if' scenarios, both in model form, and on the internet, showing what various vintage locos would look like if they had lasted long enough to receive modern liveries. GBRf have chosen the other route, showing what a Class 66 would have looked like if built thirty years earlier, and it certainly looks very smart! |
