Unbranded plain blue liveried 68031 propels the 5Q86 13:44 Long Marston to Eastleigh ECS past Whitehill (between Finstock and Combe) on 17 October 2025. The Mk5a set, led by driving trailer 12806, is going to receive some modifications, before entering service with Chiltern Railways. Although I have some pictures of Class 68s working to Long Marston from the Worcester direction, this is my first picture of one of the class (or indeed a Mk5a driving trailer!) on the southern end of the Cotswold Line. There may not have been any sunshine, but at least there is a fine range of autumn colours visible in background.
