Class 423 4-VEP 7829 passes through the tree lined cutting at Deepcut on 28 August 1987 with the 10:26 Basingstoke to Waterloo Network SouthEast service. At this time the Class 423s were being renumbered from 77xx & 78xx to 30xx & 31xx, or (for facelifted units) 34xx & 35xx.
