After Class 438 4-TC 8012 was withdrawn in May 1991, half of it (DTS 76291 & TBSK 70828) was used with the inelegantly named 'Swedish Scrubber' rail head cleaning train. It is pictured here leading the colourful train through Grateley station on 14 November 1991. Behind the former 4-TC are three research department vehicles, followed by the actual 'Swedish Scrubber' van ADB977695 (a converted GUV), with 33102 doing the pushing at the rear.
