On the final day of Class 50 working on the Waterloo to Exeter line, 24 May 1992, D400 & 50007 Sir Edward Elgar pull away from Exeter Central station with the 09:28 Exeter St Davids to Waterloo service, which as can be clearly seen, was packed to capacity. The graffiti covered signal box had been disused since 1985, and has subsequently been demolished.
