In the pouring rain, D400 & 50007 Sir Edward Elgar traverse the Waterston Oil Refinery branch on 8 January 1994 with the Pathfinder Tours 1Z16 'Dyfed Dub-Dub' railtour. It is passing the village of Steynton, approximately half way down the branch. The tour had already visited the nearby Robeston Oil Refinery, and would later travel to the western extremity of the former Great Western mainline in Wales, at Fishguard. Whilst the Robeston refinery is still open, Waterston closed in 1997, and this section of line is therefore now disused. |
