D444 matches the verdant spring green foliage for colour as it shows off its very effective (but totally inauthentic) two tone green livery on 23 May 2004 during the Mid Hants Railway's Diesel Gala. It is passing Soldridge with the late running 12:36 Alton to Alresford service. I thought I had lost this picture, because directly after taking it, I could not preview it on the back of the camera, despite the shutter definitely having fired. Luckily I didn't take any more digital pictures that day, and so was able to later recover the corrupted file off the compact flash card.
