D6593 (33208) passes Slindon on 22 November 1997 with the Guildford to Crewe 'Pines Express' railtour. This was the first use of a persevered Class 33 on the mainline, although it only worked a section of the tour on its own. In the morning it was paired up with Southern Railway U Class 2-6-0 31625, and in the afternoon it was on the rear of the train, while LMS 'Black Five' 4-6-0 44767 George Stephenson did the work.
