Looking absolutely superb in a brief patch of unexpected but very welcome sunshine, D6948 passes Dixton on 29 July 2016 with the 2L56 11:00 Cheltenham Racecourse to Laverton service, during the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway's Diesel Gala. The return to traffic of the former 37248 was the highlight of the gala, and marks the culmination of five years hard work by a dedicated band of volunteers, who have backdated the loco to its as built 1964 condition.
