Unusual work for a preserved Class 20. D8142 is employed on a Channel Tunnel Rail Link wiring train at Lenham on 19 July 2002. Workers connect up the overhead wires, as I quickly take the picture before the rapidly advancing bank of cloud blocks out the sun. With numerous trains all working on the same section of track, and a lot of them operated by Class 20s, it was certainly worth a visit to the area during the summer of 2002.
