After briefly being signal checked as it traversed the flying junction at Aynho, D9009 Alycidon sends out plumes of white smoke as it puts on the power to bring its train off the Chiltern Line, and onto the Oxford to Banbury line on 16 May 2015. The smoke only got worse as the train passed under the bridge I was standing on, and it certainly didn't smell very environmentally friendly! The train is the 1Z55 07:56 Victoria to Kidderminster VSOE 'Golden Jubilee Pullman' luxury railtour. 67005 is on the rear of the train, and would be used to haul the train back from Bridgnorth, after recently overhauled Southern Railway West Country 4-6-2 34027 Taw Valley had taken the train from Kidderminster to Bridgnorth. |
