As I walked up to the bridge, I expected to see it stop at the signal in the background, in order to allow the 1P63 15:55 Moreton-in-Marsh to Paddington GWR Class 800 to come off the Cotswold Line. Instead, it just carried on, with the inevitable result that the passenger train was delayed at Charlbury! This bizarre signalling move had no benefit, as it just had to sit at Ascott-under-Wychwood for much longer than originally booked.
