Hybrid Class 104/108 unit L730 (53455 & 51571) catches a very brief patch of weak late afternoon sunshine, as it passes South Moreton on 26 March 1992 with the 2C54 16:00 Reading to Oxford Network SouthEast service. In the final few months of first generation DMU operation in the Thames Valley, various odd combinations of hitherto unusual (for the area) DMU types were being used, as the route's regular Class 117 Pressed Steel units were moved away to pastures new, or withdrawn.
