61 years after the station closed to passengers, AC Cars railbus W79978 returned to Cirencester Town station in October 2025, as part of the Cirencester History Festival. Classmate W79977 worked the last trains on the branch on 4 April 1964. The distinctive Brunel designed 1841 station building dominates this view of W79978, pictured in the weak autumn sunshine on 26 October 2025. The unit was on a short visit from the Swindon & Cricklade Railway.
