150241 & 142073 arrive at Radyr station on 8 July 2019 with the 2F36 12:17 Treherbert to Cardiff Central Transport for Wales service. Radyr is a very busy location, with a constant procession of DMUs serving the various valley lines. There is however a big difference between today's railway, and the days of steam. Then it was a constant procession of coal trains coming from the numerous South Wales pits, down to the docks at Cardiff and Barry. On the day I visited there was not a single booked freight train. |
