A panoramic view of Kingham station, showing just how open and clear of vegetation it was in the 1980s. 150275 calls at the former important junction station with the 2A76 15:23 Great Malvern to Oxford Provincial Railways service. At the time the Cotswold Line didn't have anything like the level of service that it has today, although what it did have normally ran to time, unlike today. This picture was taken at 16:25, and the station lights are already on, yet this was the first southbound train of the day on a Sunday! The former Banbury & Cheltenham platforms can be seen on the right. The view here now is completely hemmed in by tall trees. |
