The rather plain blue livery is a hang over from the former First North Western franchise, and the only sign of its current operator here being a discrete 'Northern' branding at the far end of each vehicle. Incidentally the people in the platform waiting shelter are not passengers, but rail enthusiasts, who often gather at this station to observe the high volume of traffic that passes through.
