31233 Severn Valley Railway & 31201 approach Chester on 17 August 1996 with the Pathfinder Tours 'Crewe - Chester Flyer' railtour, at this point running as the 1Z69 13:40 Crewe to Crewe. This was a mini-tour in connection with the 1Z37 06:20 Exeter St Davids to Crewe tour. The 31s have just traversed the line from Helsby, and after a complicated series of reversals, would head back towards Crewe, along the line on the right.
