Another pair of former Greater Anglia EMUs made their last journey on 7 April 2022, when 315839 & 315848 were hauled away to the scrapman by 37884 Cepheus. The ensemble is pictured approaching the site of Ashbury Crossing, Shrivenham, with the 5Q76 11:04 Ilford EMU Depot to Newport Docks (Sims Group). The clouds were moving really fast in the strong wind, and although it was sunny when I first spotted the nose of the 37 through the catenary, the sun had gone behind a cloud, and then reappeared again during the next few seconds!
