In the early 1990s there were a couple of northbound van trains booked to pass Oxford within a few minutes of each other. The first of these to pass Hinksey Yard on 1 August 1991 was the 1E45 16:30 Swindon to Newcastle Royal Mail vans, hauled by 47479 Track 29. A little later 47488 Rail Riders passed by with the 1S04 14:20 Tonbridge to Edinburgh, also comprising just six vans. |
