Running 43 minutes late, 47739 passes Kemble Wick on 16 November 2023 with the 5Q46 11:45 Long Marston to Eastleigh ECS, taking South Western Railway EMU 701004 back home after its summer holiday in storage at Long Marston! Eight months earlier I photographed this unit going in the opposite direction. As these units are now nearly four years late entering service, they must rate as one of the most mismanaged fleet introductions in history!
