The driver of 50005 Collingwood watches me take a picture of his loco from the end of the car park at Kingham station on 17 May 1985. The train is the 1B46 17:05 Paddington to Hereford service. This rough gravel area is now part of the massively extended car park, but in the 1980s it merely led down to where British Rail kept one of their vans. The car park now has space for 150 cars, but in the days of the Class 50s there was usually less than ten cars, and sometimes just mine and one or two others! |
