The train's normal route via the Severn Tunnel was closed for engineering works, and I wanted to get a picture of it in the 'Golden Valley', a route that doesn't normally see a lot of freight traffic. Although most of the autumn leaves had fallen, there was still some colour evident. A sunny day would be useless for this picture, as it is taken from the north side of the line, and at this time of the afternoon in November, most of the valley would be in shadow anyway.
