L417 West Drayton 22 June 1991

Under the watchful eye of a rail worker, L417 (51396 & 51354) crosses from the up relief to the down relief line at West Drayton on 22 June 1991. Both relief lines were closed for engineering works to the east of this point, and so local trains from the west were terminating at West Drayton. This train would ordinarily have been the 2A48 13:01 Maidenhead to Paddington Network SouthEast service, but after it has reversed, and the points have been clipped, it will be heading back to Reading. Note that the unit is running without its centre car (59506).
