L424 (51404, 59514 & 51362) approaches Shipton station on 19 August 1983 with the 2B60 16:33 Reading to Moreton-in-Marsh 'all stations' local service. Oxford being displayed in the destination blind was unhelpful when it left Didcot, but just plain wrong once it got onto the Cotswold Line! All northbound trains were running late on this occasion, 20 minutes late in this case. Note that in the 1980s the public could still be trusted to cross the boarded crossing between the two platforms. This has now been removed, and there is now no connection between the platforms, other than via a long walk by the use of the road bridge.
